Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade During the Pandemic

The 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade During the Pandemic

The 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is coming and it’s a much bigger (and better) event than last year. We’re extremely excited for this year’s parade here at Your VIP Pass and we wanted to write a short blog about it. Keep reading if you’d like to learn more about what to expect at this year’s parade, and to learn a little more about our unique VIP experiences. And as you also look forward to future NYC events, check out our VIP Experience in Times Square as well!

The Most Iconic Parade in America is Back

While it was wonderful that Macy’s worked hard to offer a purely televised Thanksgiving Parade in 2020 – right in the depths of the first covid lockdown – we are extremely happy that the parade is back to its former glory, with real, in-person crowds allowed again. With vaccine uptake and generally positive statistics, New Yorkers and visitors can get out onto the streets of NYC and take part in the biggest tradition of the year.
And as the parade is back to more or less full strength, our VIP Experience at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is back too! We have such an incredible experience planned out for guests this year and we’d like to tell you all about it later!

Baby Yoda Might Just Steal Santa’s Stage

Depending on who you ask, perhaps the biggest news we have ahead of the parade is that there’s going to be a Baby Yoda balloon this year. Baby Yoda took the world by storm when he first appeared in the hit TV show The Mandalorian in 2019. It turned out that no one had their cute defences up for a smaller, cuter version of Yoda, making sure that Baby Yoda (his actual name is Grogu) became an instant internet sensation. While Santa is almost often the biggest part of the parade for onlookers, we wouldn’t be surprised if Grogu steals the show…
Of course, there is a lot more to look forward to at the parade than Grogu alone; there will be the usual visual smorgasbord of balloons, marching people, performers, people in costumes, and all the other weird and wonderful pageantry that pulls in such impressive crowds each year. We can’t wait to see it!

Why Choose Your VIP Pass for this Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?

a view of a city
If all you want to do is see the parade out on the street, then you should absolutely do this. The atmosphere is great and we’re sure you’ll have a good time. However, if you’d rather avoid the busy crowds, get the best possible views of the parade, all while enjoying delicious food prepared by some of New York City’s best chefs, then we’re absolutely the right option for you. In a sense, what we do is make a special occasion even more special, and we’ve found that there is even more appetite for this during the pandemic as people need special occasions to come together with family and friends and enjoy life again after so much time spent indoors.

Covid Safety

Another reason to choose Your VIP Pass over similar companies is that we have gone to great lengths to ensure as much fun as possible while also taking covid safety seriously. There is socially distanced seating (which also makes it easier to look out at the parade), a maximum of 10 guests per table, temperature checks at entry, and the requirement of guests to have a negative covid test up to 72 hours before the event. We want to ensure our guests’ safety and this is the best way we know how to do this.
If you have any questions about our 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade VIP events, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’ll see you there!
