Every April The Tribeca Film Festival brings visionaries and diverse audiences together to celebrate storytelling in all its forms, including film, TV, VR, gaming, music, and online work.  Founded by Robert De Niro in 2001, the festival champions emerging and established voices, discovers award-winning filmmakers and creators, curates innovative experiences, and introduces new technology and ideas through premieres, exhibitions, talks, and live performances.

The annual edition will enter its 18th year running from April 24th to May, 5, 2019.  This year This Is Spinal Tap will have a 35th anniversary reunion with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, and Rob Reiner in attendance having a memorable screening of the mockumentary, a special musical performance and conversation following.  In addition, Tribeca will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Reality Bites with a screening and Q and A with the film’s stars including Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Janeane Garofalo, Steve Zahn, and Ben Stiller.

“The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” returns this year bringing all the excitement to Louisville, Kentucky at the 144th Kentucky Derby.  Starting in 1875, the Kentucky Derby is rooted in equestrian tradition with visitors and locals alike coming to be part of the action packed weekend that makes the Derby an experience not to be missed.

Running from May 2nd to 5th, major highlights encompass the Kentucky Oaks race occurring the day prior to the Derby along with coveted welcome parties hosted by horse racing talent.  YVP will also have access to experiences surrounding the main event such as tours of Lexington Horse Farms and Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Times Square has been needing a much desired resurgence and facelift in all facets covering lifestyle, hospitality, and design.  Enter the Times Square Edition Hotel which had its grand opening bash on March 12th bringing out New York’s power elite including Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Maxwell, Ian Schrager, and many more.  Schrager who has been behind notable projects such as Studio 54, The Gramercy Park Hotel, and Public Hotels brings his expertise and touch to the Edition group’s newest property.

Guests enter through a long ivory hall with venetian plastered walls and ceiling and a floating custom green mirrored stainless sphere inspired by Anish Kapoor and the colors of Jeff Koons.  The refined and pristine spaces are juxtaposed against the energy, vibrancy and chaos of Times Square.  Accompanying this is Times Square’s first ever Michelin-starred chef, John Fraser, spearheading the food and beverage at the hotel to create a cacophony of dining experiences.  The fine dining restaurant named 701West is a gastronomic gem in a jewel box-like setting that is an explosion of color.  The menu features the best local ingredients and inventive preparations inspired by classical French, Asian, and Latin fare.

Tony Awards 2019 

Theater fans rejoice as the 73rd Tony Awards will be held on June 9th airing on CBS.  Famed comedian James Corden will host the festivities at Radio City Music Hall bringing his energy and British wit to millions of viewers across the world.  Nominees will be announced on April 30th by Brandon Victor Dixon and Bebe Neuwirth live on the Tony’s Facebook page.  Tune in to see what shows and actors will get the prestigious nod from the theater community who will then anxiously wait to see whose name will be announced at the awards ceremony.
